Monday mornings is about a boy named Josh Miller. Throughout the story it seems like he's a child. But really he's a grown man.
Here is some inference that I picked up on in the story that made it sound like a kid:
He felt like throwing is alarm clock across the room, that makes him sound not very mature.
Took his lunchbox and grabbed his school jacket, this sounds like a kid because most children go to school with lunchboxs and a school uniform jacket.
He was eating chocolate in the morning, it's not an adult thing to do in the morning.
He was shouting out loud in his front yard, mostly children would do that.
He smashed a window and ran away, adults are likely to go over and apologized.
Walks to school, most teachers drive to school.
He did a victory dance for the whole neighbourhood to see, children wouldn't care but adult would.
